About this role
Are you passionate about reshaping the future of retail and driving sustainable growth? Altavia is looking for a eoal-driven, entrepreneurial, and tenacious VP New Business Development to lead our expansion efforts in Canada. In this role, you'll not only help extend our presence in the retail, CPG, and financial sectors, but also be a part of a movement transforming the way businesses connect with their customers.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Craft and execute a robust business development strategy to acquire new clients in FMCG, Banking, Insurance and retail.
- Drive client acquisition: Keeping the pulse on market trends and industry shifts while gathering information on key customer segments and decision-makers to cultivate and secure a pipeline of highly relevant business opportunities.
- Set the sales excellence standard: Meet sales targets through a blend of lead generation, client presentations, and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and values.
- Collaborate and innovate: Work closely with marketing, creative, and technical teams to co-create compelling proposals that deliver cutting-edge, omnichannel solutions to clients.
- Pipeline mastery: Build a robust sales pipeline, continuously tracking and converting opportunities while maintaining transparency and timeliness in deal closures.
- Industry networking: Actively engage in cold outreach, industry events, and networking opportunities to expand Altavia’s reach and connect with high-potential prospects.
- Set the sales excellence standard: Meet sales targets through a blend of lead generation, client presentations, and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and values.
- Collaborate and innovate: Work closely with marketing, creative, and technical teams to co-create compelling proposals that deliver cutting-edge, omnichannel solutions to clients.
What you bring to the table
- Experience & expertise: 6-8 years of proven success in business development, preferably within retail, marketing, or related fields.
- Commerce & service industry insight: A strong grasp of the retail ecosystem, with established connections in industries such as retail, CPG, insurance, and banking.
- Sales & negotiation prowess: A proven track record of achieving sales targets, securing new business, and expertly negotiating complex deals.
- Strategic thinking: The ability to think big and craft scalable growth strategies, understanding pricing strategies that build long term partnerships and sustainable success.
- Master communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build trust and influence at all levels.
- Autonomous & driven: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, capable of working independently or as part of a cross-functional team.Strategic Thinker: Ability to devise and implement effective growth strategies.
Preferred qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications in sales or business development are a plus).
- Deep familiarity with the commercial and financial industries, particularly with medium to large-scale clients.
